A COMBINED SERVICES ENTERTAINMENT SHOW
With a great cast headed by the irrepressible Harry Secombe, this proved to be one of the best shows ever put on at Kasfareet Cinema for us airmen.
These pictures were taken in the cinema in low light, with a fast film, handheld, self
processed in the camera club darkroom, and this combined with 55 years of less than optimum storage has not been conducive to `sparkling images`. Still, as they are possibly the only record of these Kasfareet shows, it has been decided to display these for posterity, warts an` all.

The MEAF Dance Band open the show. This picture supplied by lead trumpet Albert Hesketh who is the middle man of three trumpets back left of picture. Albert thinks they must have commenced with music from Glenn Miller - Little Brown Jug, then Solitude, Harlem Nocturne, American Patrol, String of Pearls, East of the Sun etc. This pic also shown on Alwyn`s CAMP PICTURES page together with names of all the band.
The station medical officer is persuaded to join in the act and shuffle the cards
Harry Secombe poses in the cast dressing room. Colin thinks that he asked Harry if he could take a picture of him so he posed like this. Colin says the `funny look` is probably ` why does this erk want to photograph me like this ? `
ps - Colin thinks that he obtained access to take pictures back stage, in the dressing room and from the catwalk because he knew the cinema projectionist, Harry Taysom. He thinks he had done a portrait for Harry and for this he fiddled permission for Colin to take pictures.
