Jack and Sandra in Shanklin, Isle of Wight
Jack Garry..........For the past couple of years, Sandra and I have seriously tried to arrange a holiday break down to the South Coast and apart from visiting Sandra`s birth-place on Hayling Island, we also wanted to meet up with some of our ex-Kasfareet contacts who live in that neck of the woods.
This year I chose a week in June to motor down to Southampton for the car ferry across to the Isle of Wight for two or three days in Shanklin and whilst there to visit Mike and Isabel Favell who live in the lovely village of Arreton. The weather affected our original plans but we managed to really enjoy some time with Mike and Isabel in their village.

We then took an early WightLink Ferry across to Portsmouth to check into our Hayling Island hotel. The following day we called on Colin and Marion Harrington who live in the area and had a most enjoyable lunch at the Brookfield Hotel, Emsworth. After being entertained by Colin and marion back at their home, we returned to our hotel in the early evening.

Our last day was spent with Charlie and Marilyn Wright with Frank and Coleen Petter, having a mid-morning coffee break at our hotel before taking a pleasant carvery lunch at a nearby pub where we debated various Kasfareet matters whilst the ladis talked about - whatever ladies talk about. Before bidding our farewells we had our photo taken in the car park.
