A selection of photographs donated by Sgt Barby`s daughter, Jenny Dias. Bryan served in the Air Traffic Control Tower around 1946 following service as Air Crew on Lancasters during WW2. Bryan unfortunately now suffers memory problems.

Tom Dobbie (Wavertree Cycling Club) - Alan Kennedy says Tom was instrumental in securing the aircraft crate which a few of us shifted up to the back and side of the hut on greased runners and shoved up against the hut, into which Tom made a doorway. The C.O. of the camp did not seem to mind and came to it`s opening ! It also became Tom`s residence and very close to the YMCA. ( Is this Tom`s annexe to the Exiles hut in this pic, there are many cycling pics on display-Alwyn) |

Here are more pics sent in by Jenny, mostly cycling. No info on the backs of them so would appreciate any comments appreciated from anyone particularly Exiles.
( I am not sure if all 12 pics relate to one race ie the 1946 Grand Prix de Kasfareet...Alwyn )...Until more info comes to light, the pics are not in any order.
Bunch, just after start, at YMCA corner 1946 - Cpls & WAAFS Mess is beyond main bunch.
Can anyone remember what the construction is on the left ? Alan Kennedy remembers that german POW`s were housed in tent lines directly opposite the YMCA !

The following 5 photographs are of a track meeting held on the grass rugger pitch at Fayid which had a number of water channels across it so making the going
very bumpy
Alan Kennedy has written up the following photo as " Christmas 10 miler. One bottle of beer at the turn and one (for some) at the finish ". The following 2 pics
indicate no particular event but look as though they may be related to the first.
Following two pictures are from the 11MU Grand Prix at Tura
